Vancouver's summer calendar just took a hit: the Dragon Boat Festival, Lynn Valley Days, the traditional three-night fireworks competition, and (the one I'm most sad about) the Craft Beer Festival, are all cancelled. Host city rules. The upside though is you don't need a $1000+ ticket to have a memorable night this summer. June's creative studios have a fun lineup that fills the gap with something hands-on and creative, from a pottery wheel in Steveston to an evening soirée in Point Grey. Two hours on the wheel in Steveston, no experience required.
